a picture's worth...
well, first of all...Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! then, some pics...

(from top: a gathering of local Muslims to prayer on Dec. 8, a major holiday for them ; a shepard and his son stopping traffic to lead cattle thru town-notice the billboard behind them! ; a dusty soccer game at sunset ; a hairdresser's billboard ; locals gathering roofing straw )
all right, all right...its been a while, too long im sure, since my last post here, and so i thought id go for some pictures to help make up for lost time. all is good with me, thanks, and i will be moving to Fada in just five days now. i spent last week in workshops with my counterpart, who will be my coworker/mentor over the next two years. His name is Yempabou and he is the president/founder of an association of farmers in the Fada region. They have recently received a grant to build a pig corral/sty for housing pigs before heading off to market, so we will be working on the construction and efficient use of those funds starting in February. I will certainly be working on plenty of grant research/writing for the group over the next two years.
